Executive Management

Werner P. Bohrer is the Managing Director of EU.select.

Looking back on more than 30 years of profound experience in the chemicals industry as well as in the field of European politics, he founded the consultancy EU.select in 2000. Among the positions Werner P. Bohrer held, he was part of the executive management of Wacker-Chemie and SKW Trostberg, later on he was assigned managing director of NIGU-Chemie (a subsidiary of today’s EVONIK AG).

Following his change to the VIAG Holding, the political component became an ever increasing and vital component of his work, especially during his time as Director of the North-America Office and thereafter of the representation of VIAG in Brussels.

Team

Currently, the team of EU.select consists of 10 employees. All employees are experts in the field of Public Affairs and Communications. Moreover, our consultants have detailed technical know-how and profound industry knowledge. All members of staff share a strong strategic and creative competence, multilingual skills and extensive experience abroad.

Advisory Board

EU.select is being supported by a circle of External Advisors. Our Advisory Board among others includes a former Director-General of the European Commission, a Director h.c. of the European Commission as well as a current member of the German Parliament (Bundestag). All external advisors share decades of special and managerial experience on both, EU and national level (e.g. in the fields of chemicals, science, consumer protection, health care and food, research, astronautics and energy).

Partners and Network

EU.select offers the necessary local infrastructure as well as a comprehensive network and numerous accesses to the most important political “decision-shapers and -makers” ranging from the technical working levels up to the political top-levels.

Since 1 January 2009 EU.select is also present in Berlin. As the only German company EU.select offers an operational main office in Brussels and a representation in Berlin. Both locations provide specific Public Affairs and Communications know-how at the interface of science, business and politics.

In order to meet our clients very individual requirements today and in the future, EU.select supports German companies, associations and institutions to position their interests vis-à-vis the political and the public spheres. With the axis of competence between Brussels and Berlin, EU.select not only accommodates the rules of the political game, but shapes these rules custom-made: tailored to suit a market need and client-oriented.

In addition EU.select has direct access to Munich and Budapest, as well as to North America (Canada and USA) and Russia.
